BedsforBucks was set up when we tried to find much needed accommodation and care for our loveable bun, and found that there wasn't any small pet boarding we could take him to locally in Luton or Bedfordshire. So we hope to provide your bunny or piggy with the same love and attention during their stay, that we show our own bunny.
I'm a member of the Rabbit Welfare Association and have kept rabbits, hamsters, gold fish, stick insects , chickens, ducks and budgies since I was a child. I have also dog boarded and walked in the past.

Rabbits will need to have current and up to date vaccinations for VHD 1 and Myxomatosis and also VHD2. Vaccinations are generally given 3 weeks apart and the last vaccine will need to be given a minimum of 21 days before your rabbits stay with us. this to allow for any incubation of the disease that they might already be carrying prior to vaccination. the above vaccinations are given yearly, unless otherwise stated by your vet or there is an outbreak locally, where I would suggest that Myxi vaccine is given 6 monthly. Proof of vaccination in the form of a photo of your vaccination card will be asked for when booking.
Sick & Medicated Pets
Unfortunately I'm unable to accommodate and medicate sick small animals and those showing any signs of illness.
If your pet becomes sick whilst with us, we will take it to your vet, or to ours, whichever is closest. You are responsible for any vets fees, nursing and travel and I will need to be reimbursed when you collect your pet. Please ensure that you sign the appropriate section on the booking form as this will allow the vet and I to medicate your pet, as they will no longer medicate a pet that isn't mine. The form can be signed when you drop off your pet if you've emailed it to me when booking.
Disinfectants And Cleaners Used
Many small pet boarding establishments do not use the required disinfectants and cleaners suitable for stopping the spread of disease. We use a general pet spray, for example Johnsons Clean and Safe, for daily cleaning of litter trays, bowls and bottles. it is effective against: influenza Hong Kong Virus, Heroes Simplex type 1 Virus, Vaccinia Virus, Rotavirus, Pasteurella Multocida, Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomanas Aeruginosia, Escherichia Coli, Salmonella Typhimurium.
We also use Virkon disinfectant to clean hutches and equipment after our guests have departed. Virkon S is a Defra approved disinfectant used in vets.
Hutches are also regularly sprayed with Johnsons flea and mite spray.
